Chubby Cho is an Asian restaurant located in Jubilee Hills. The ambience and décor is Asian-inspired and is inviting and serene. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. While Chubby Cho has a wide variety of delicious dishes, I must confess I go there purely for their Ramen. The Ramen here is one of the best I have had in my quest to match the high of the first taste that spoilt me almost 15 years ago.
The dish comes with a choice of noodles and meat. You can also choose a specific flavour profile. Every time I ate the Ramen at Chubby Cho, that burst of Umami flavour fills me with joy and always brings a smile to my face. That is what a good bowl of food should do for you – make you happy!
I first tasted Ramen around 15 years ago at a restaurant Aka Saka, which was run by a South-east Asian immigrant couple. It was at a time when I ignorantly presumed that South East Asian food was raw and unpalatable. I was coerced into trying the Ramen out. Except for the Sunny side up that I am yet to warm up to, the whole meal had me hooked. It was something that I went back to when I needed comforting or something to celebrate – basically any excuse to have Ramen.
Chubby Cho’s Ramen is a close second. I cannot wait to go back for another bowl of goodness. Their dim sums are also a dish that I would recommend. Flavourful, well stuffed and Al dente.
